This collection of documents of Danvers, Mass., from 1754 to 1869 includes: receipts, land deeds, a proposal for the erection of a grist mill (1760), a muster roll (1803), an act of incorporation for an iron works (1803), an insurance policy for a schooner (1810), a list of subscribers to liquidate the town debt (1819), a proposal for erecting an academy (1825), etc. Also included is the 1814 orderly book of Samuel Page (1753-1814), Captain of the New Mills Volunteer Minutemen. It includes a list of subscribers who agree to equip and form themselves into an independent company, and brief records of meetings held. Items are in chronological order.
